The Project Policy Analyst contributes to the development and excellence of our Obesity Prevention Evaluation Research Unit which will conduct evaluation research and provide technical assistance on evaluation to inform and improve programs and policies relating to nutrition and physical activity behaviors of low income populations in California.
The focus will be the evaluation and tracking of the process, impacts and obesity related outcome measures of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) interventions. These interventions include education and policies, systems, and environmental change strategies for SNAP eligible populations taking place where people live, learn, work, shop, eat, and play. This work will be done in collaboration with the Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Branch (NEOPB) at the California Department of Public Health and local health departments as well as other stakeholders.
The analyst will be responsible for providing evaluation-related training and technical assistance, designing and managing evaluation projects, assisting with training and webinars, and summarizing and disseminating results for a variety of audiences to be used in meaningful and actionable ways. The analyst will work closely with research and evaluation team members to meet deadlines and ensure deliverables are completed in a timely and accurate fashion.
