Under the direction of the Employee and Labor Relations Manager, the E&LR Compliance Coordinator provides overall administrative and analytical support to the Labor and Employee Relations team. The ELR Compliance Coordinator is a highly skilled professional responsible for the oversight of the University's Employee and Labor Relations compliance programs, including but not limited to Immunization Requirements, Contracting Out for Services (AFSCME Article 5 – Regents Policy 5402) Requirements, and other programs that require ongoing evaluation of compliance and employee and labor relations related policy analysis.
The position involves establishing and maintaining positive labor-management relations in a highly distributed work environment, where employees are located throughout the State of California. This includes monitoring and ensuring adherence to UC policy, labor contract provisions, union grievance processing as well as addressing questions from unions, third-party vendors, employees and managers with specificity and from an enterprise perspective. The position requires knowledge and use of employee and labor relations concepts and skills, in conjunction with a broad understanding of labor/employment laws, principles and general union issues, to resolve matters of varying complexity.
Work with various levels of University management in a confidential environment. Work involves a high degree of confidentiality. Uses professional HR concepts as a seasoned, experienced professional to apply organization policies and procedures to resolve the full range of E&LR-related issues. Works on problems that are diverse and complex in scope, where analysis of situations requires a review of a variety of factors. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day assignments with some guidance provided on new projects.
This position is a contract appointment that is 100% fixed, and ends 2 years from date of hire with the possibility of extension if funding permits.
Pay Scale: $68,400/year to $96,200/year
